Transfer Hatches

Pass Through Hatches are used to allow the transfer of materials between Clean Rooms and support areas whilst minimising the risk of airborne cross-contamination.The elimination of surface contamination on materials to be transferred is usually effected by spraying with disinfectant and/or wiping with sterile non-shedding wipes.

 CONSTRUCTION :

Manufactured from 316 grade stainless steel with 8mm thick plain acrylic doors.

12 months from date of delivery.

FIXING/INSTALLATION DETAILS :

Stainless steel 3 sided angle flanges are typically supplied loose to clamp hatch to wall. On the side designated ‘Clean Side’, position and then secure 1 flange around the hatch with angle to the inside (this can be flush to the end of the hatch – flush, or, in bound – protruding), then offer the hatch into the prepared aperture until the flange is tight up to the wall. Secure to the wall by silicone or screws.

On the ‘Dirty Side’ offer the other flange over the hatch with the angle to the outside and push flush to the wall. Secure to wall and hatch ensuring the hatch is level.

Once in position, fill any gaps between hatch and flanges with a bead of grey silicone (supplied).

If required, we may be able to offer an installation service – prices on request.

OPERATING DETAIL :

To open a door, turn the rectangular plated knob (interlock) on the front edge of the hatch to vertical, then using the door knob pull door away from the retaining magnets, allowing access to the hatch. The action of the door opening, releases a sprung plunger which acts as a stop should anyone try and access the other door, because the opposite side rectangular plated knob will now be horizontal across the other door and cannot be turned due to the restriction of movement by the extended plunger on the open side, (plated knobs are connected and offset).

On closing the door, make sure the door is held by the magnets.

(Do not push plunger ‘in’ on open side manually).
